Man City face a very tough task in their first very Champions League quarter-final as they travel to Paris to face fellow mega-rich club PSG.

Reaching the quarter-final of Europe’s top competition is seen as a formality for these two teams after spending close to one billion on their respectively assembled squads.

An Abu Dhabi took over Man City in July 2009 before a Qatari investment group took over PSG in January 2011 as the two teams flexed their financial muscle to reach the top.

Both Manuel Pellegrini and Laurent Blanc (managers of both teams) have rejected that this match is a clash of the super rich.

While Man City are in their first ever quarter-final, PSG have gotten to this stage in each of the last three seasons only to be knocked out by first Barcelona, Chelsea and then Barcelona once again.

Marco Verratti and Javier Pastore missed the 4-1 win over Nice on the weekend and are still recovering from injuries, so may miss out here. Angel Di Maria also missed that one but could make a return.

Vincent Kompany is suffering from calf injury, while Yaya Toure is struggling with a knee problem. Both could miss the quarter-final tie.

Raheem Sterling will also miss the game due to the groin strain he suffered in the Manchester derby, while Fabian Delph is touch and go with his own calf injury.

On the plus side, Kevin De Bruyne, Joe Hart and Samir Nasri will be fit to make the trip after making their returns from injuries.

Kick off: 7.45 pm

Venue: Parc des Princes

In the other quarter-final clash, Wolfsburg welcome Real Madrid to the Volkswagen arena in what should be a straight forward win for Los Blancos.
