WWE CROWN JEWEL 2021: LIVE IN SAUDI ARABIA - matches

The WWE landscape will change significantly after the Oct. 21 Crown Jewel event. Crown Jewel not only represents WWE's return to Saudi Arabia for the next in a series of highly controversial events in the country but also serves as the final event before the changes of the WWE Draft go into effect for both Raw and SmackDown.

Brock Lesnar will make his in-ring return at the event, battling dominant universal champion Roman Reigns in a huge showdown. There is currently one other championship match officially set for the card, with Becky Lynch defending the SmackDown women's championship against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks.

Let's take a look at what we know -- and what we expect -- at WWE Crown Jewel.

WWE Crown Jewel matches

Universal Championship -- Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar: Reigns vs. Lesnar is a huge matchup that WWE is excitedly building toward after Lesnar returned at the end of SummerSlam. Paul Heyman, current advisor to Reigns and former advocate to Lesnar, has been central to the storyline, with Reigns' trust in Heyman eroding. With Reigns having held the title for more than a year, Lesnar represents the biggest test of his time as champion.

SmackDown Women's Championship -- Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks: Banks made her surprise return to ruin the Extreme Rules rematch between Lynch and Belair. That made sense after Banks and Belair were set to rematch for the title at SummerSlam before Banks was unable to compete. Instead, Lynch returned from a long absence due to pregnancy to beat Belair and win the title in less than 30 seconds. Now, Lynch has to fend off the challenge of both women, though Belair will be moving to Raw after the match. That doesn't mean she can't win the belt, however, as Raw women's champion Charlotte Flair was drafted to SmackDown on the first night of the draft.

WWE Championship -- Big E (c) vs. Drew McIntyre: McIntyre moves off of Raw and to SmackDown after Crown Jewel. Still, he ended a recent Raw by staring down Big E after the champion defended the title against Bobby Lashley. The following week, Big E agreed to give McIntyre a shot at the title after McIntyre explained that he'd been waiting for someone to come along and take the championship from Bobby Lashley.

Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg (No Disqualification, Falls Count Anywhere): Lashley beat Goldberg at SummerSlam and also attacked Goldberg's son after the match. Goldberg has made it clear he would get his revenge eventually, going as far as to say that he is hoping to "get lucky" and "kill" Lashley. He doubled down on those words in follow-up promos before Lashley agreed to give him the rematch, but only if it took place under No DQ rules, which Goldberg happily agreed to.

Seth Rollins vs. Edge (Hell in a Cell): The two men have split their first two matches, with Rollins delivering what he believed would be a career-ending stomp in the rematch. After Rollins broke into Edge's home, Rollins demanded Edge accept his demand for one final match. Edge responded with a brutal attack the following week on SmackDown. Edge then called for the two to meet inside Hell in a Cell with WWE later confirming the match for the event.  

Raw Tag Team Championship -- RK-Bro (c) vs. AJ Styles & Omos: Randy Orton and Riddle won the tag belts from Styles and Omos at SummerSlam, ending a dominant championship reign. Styles and Omos haven't stopped focussing on getting their revenge and WWE made it official that the championship rematch would take place at Crown Jewel.

King of the Ring finals: WWE is bringing back King of the Ring and it they are planning to bring the tournament to the end at Crown Jewel. This is in line with many of the other "notable accomplishments" on past events in Saudi Arabia, including the WWE World Cup and Greatest Royal Rumble.

Queen's Crown finals: Similar to King of the Ring, this tournament -- the first-ever all-women's title held under the Queen's Crown label -- will come to an end at Crown Jewel.

Mansoor vs. Mustafa Ali: Ali and Mansoor had something going as a tag team before Ali tired of things after a series of losses. The two now will have a singles match at Crown Jewel. Mansoor has been a staple of the WWE events in Saudi Arabia, including winning a 51-man battle royal at Super ShowDown in 2019, so it only made sense for the promotion to fit him on the card.

The Usos vs. Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander (Kickoff Match): This match was added to the card late, serving as the kickoff show match. The match is not for The Usos' SmackDown tag titles, given the Hurt Business members are a part of the Raw brand. Instead, this should just be a solid bit of tag wrestling to warm up the crowd.
