Arsenal will continue without Per Mertesacker, Carl Jenkinson and Danny Welbeck.
Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud both remain doubts for this game.
Granit Xhaka could be getting a start after impressing in the last two games.
Alexis Sanchez is expected to lead the front line.
Marco van Ginkel is out through injury, while Kurt Zouma has returned but is unfit for this game.
Skipper John Terry remains a doubt for this clash.
Cesc Fabregas is expected to get a start here after his impressive League Cup performance against Leicester City.
Stats:
Arsenal have won only one of their last six games against Chelsea.
Chelsea have kept clean sheets in 7 out of 8 games against Arsenal in all campaigns.
Arsenal have lost only one of their last 15 Premier League games.
Arsenal have netted more than a goal in 6 of their last 7 Premier League.
Diego Costa has netted five goals in five Premier League games.
Arsene Wenger says he is pleased Lucas Perez is proving that he can play at Arsenal’s level after the striker scored twice in Tuesday night’s 4-0 win at Nottingham Forest.
The uncapped Spanish forward made his first appearance in the League Cup as Wenger fielded a reasonably strong side despite the visit of Chelsea in their next Premier League game.
Another summer signing Granit Xhaka broke the deadlock in the first half with another long-range strike before Perez scored twice in 11 second-half minutes to give the visitors a 3-0 lead.
England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain put their progress beyond doubt with an added-time strike as Arsenal notched up their fourth successive win in domestic competition.
Perez’s brace against the two-time European Cup winners were his first goals since his reported £17m move to Arsenal from La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna in the summer transfer window.
And Wenger was pleased for the 28-year-old centre-forward ahead of this weekend’s home clash against bitter rivals Chelsea.
“Honestly, for me the most important is that we win the game, not who scores – it’s not so important,” Wenger told his post match media conference on Tuesday night.
“Individually, it’s good because he [Perez] can convince people that he has the level to play for us and it will help himself as well to grow in belief.”
Arsenal are in fourth place in the Premier League table.
