Ogun police arrest cultist for
armed robbery, recover 10 cars

The Ogun State police Command has
arrested and paraded 27 suspects who
were apprehended for various offenses at
different locations in Ogun state by police
operatives attached to Special Anti Robbery
Squad and the Department of Criminal
Investigation and Intelligence of the
command.
The command,which had been on the trail of
some notorious cultists who had been involved in
many killings and crimes in Ijebu area of the
state,arrested two notorious cultists who are
confirmed members of Aiye confraternity for
armed robbery recently.
The suspected cultists are AHMED OLASUNKANMI
aka AHMED THE KILLER,25,and SADIQ MUILI,24.
Other suspected cultists arrested for armed
robbery are ADEWALE OLUMIDE,28, RAFIU
OLUWATOSIN,27, and IFEANYI IDOR,27.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the cultists
have been involved in series of armed robbery
including snatching of cars within major cities
and along highways within and outside the
state.The command also arrested another set of
armed robbers who specialize in snatching cars
and robbery operations.They include IFEANYI
OKEKE,34,ABIODUN TAIWO,39,OLA HAMMED,40
and ODION OZASUWA,23.The police have
recovered almost 10 vehicles and 8 guns and
several ammunition of different calibres from the
suspects.
The command also arrested additional 14
suspected cultists from Agbara area of the state,
while two suspects,IDRIS ADEJUWON,24,and
MUIDEEN BELLO,26 were arrested in connection
with the August 5th Ijoko Otta Killings.
The Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP
Abdulmajid Ali has charged officers and men of
the command to go after hoodlums and criminals
in the state and make sure the state is safe for
all and sundry. CP Ali has directed that the
suspects be charged to court immediately after
proper investigations. He also vowed to deal
decisively,in accordance with provisions of the
law,with any criminal or individuals who may
want to foment troubles in the state.
