UNIOSUN TO HOST HUMBOLDT
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
The German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation
has provided full funding to the Ambassador
Scientist in Nigeria ( Prof Clement Adebooye) to
organize a scientific conference in UNIOSUN from
August 2-7, 2015. The title of the conference is
'Impacting Lives and Livelihoods through
Research: A New Mission (Vision)for Humboldt
Research Fellows in Nigeria' .
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Oguntola Jelil
Alamu will preside at the Opening Ceremony on
Monday 3rd August, 2015 at 10.00 am . The Venue
is the Main Auditorium, UNIOSUN, Osogbo.
This conference will target agriculture and
agriculture-related innovations which can result in
increased food production, better storage, and
overall well-being of the poor farming population.
By so doing, this conference will go a long way to
assist in achieving the objectives of the Humboldt
Foundation as well contribute to achievement of
the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) of ending
poverty and extreme hunger.
This conference will take the form of scientific
conference, dialogue and training workshop on
how to make the outcomes of research impactful
for the benefit of the poor people in Nigeria.

The National Universities Commission has
assigned some professionals to visit three
Colleges/Faculties in UNIOSUN for accreditation of
some programmes. The Colleges/Faculties visited
were: Humanities and Culture, Ikire; Management
and Social Sciences and Law.
